Pictures

I meant to post these pictures yesterday, sorry for the delay!

Oh, and I was too lazy to edit out my name.

Hi, I'm Ciana Vaughn, nice to meet you! (Please don't try to steal my identity! LOL!)

I'm at work and I have a meeting to attend, so enjoy the pics! I'll try to write a real post later. (Yeah, meeting was cancelled.)

I'm proud to announce that my baby girl is completely healthy according to the ultrasound, and my results from the Integrated Screening Test was NEGATIVE! Woo-hoo!! Her heart is healthy, all her organs are in the right place, she has all her fingers and toes, and we are so happy.

Happy Friday!

Ultrasounds

Yesterday it seemed like all the forces were against my husband and I as we were trying to make it to our ultrasound appointment yesterday. I got off work late, it was POURING down rain to the point that we couldn't see the lines on the road, and I forgot all the paperwork and money at home.
We finally arrived 5 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, which wasn't bad considering....

The facility was so nice, there were couches everywhere and in the actual ultrasound room there was a flat screen TV and a projector screen so you could see everything. It was great! The tech starts probing around, and she says, "I can't get a great shot, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're having." In my mind, I'm thinking 'BOY!', then she says, "A GIRL!!!!!" I think my jaw hit the floor. Literally. You could've knocked me over with a feather.

I didn't say anything because I was in total and complete shock. So she starts taking pictures and showing us her little hands and feet, and then we got it. The money shot, and it was so easy to see that she was all girl.

We received a few photos and a DVD from that appointment. The money shot picture didn't get printed because she ran out of paper! I was so sad about that. But she did throw in a ton of 4D pictures (not printed but on the CD), so that was nice of her. I could tell that she felt bad about it.

As soon as we got in the car, we called EVERYONE! My mother in law started crying, she wanted a granddaughter so badly! I'm glad I'm going to be able to give her one. We're probably going to do one more 4d ultrasound before Little Miss Priss arrives. Just for more pictures and memories.
I had another ultrasound appointment this morning. This one was my 18 week fetal survey. I didn't say anything to the tech about having found out the gender, just to see if she was on the same page. And she was! She noticed that we were having a girl right away. We got to see all of her parts from her kidneys, to her tongue. It was awesome! I'm so in love already, and nearly cry everything I think about her.

She is measuring right on track, and ahead in a few areas. Also, the placenta is at the back of my uterus (posterior), which is why I probably feel so much movement. Oh, and there is NO PLACENTA PREVIA!! YAY!!!!!!!!! The placenta was nice and high. I'm beyond excited, and just want her to keep growing and stay in there until December 20th at least!! Now I can start shopping!!!!!!

Gender reveal post

Hi everyone! We literally just got back from our ultrasound, and it looks like Bunny is a...................

BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are beyond excited!! I'll be sure to post pictures tomorrow. I'm starving and my throat is sore from calling all of my friends and family members.

18 Weeks!! (With a bare belly pic) **EDITED**

I added another pic, this time with my belly covered by my shirt. I think my bump looks bigger with clothes (but I also have a Bella Band on, which could make it look bigger...), oh and please excuse the background, I was in the bathroom at my job. Sorry for rambling!

How far along? 18 Weeks! I can't believe I'm already four and a half months pregnant!

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure what this weeks weight gain/loss was. I can almost guarantee I'm still down a few lbs.

Sleep: I've developed a new pregnancy symptom. Leg cramps. I had them two or three nights in a row and they HURT! I started flexing and stretching my legs before I get into the bed and it seems to help. Other than that, sleep has been good.

Food cravings: Still haven't had any major cravings, I ate a lot of pizza over the past week. But I didn't CRAVE it...

Best moment this week: It is going to be finding out the gender! We find out tomorrow!! Woo-hoo!!!

Movement: Every day. We are going to have one active child on our hands. Now I start to worry if 20 minutes goes by and I haven't felt anything. I usually feel movement pretty much all day.

Labor Signs: NO! I don't even want to think about this until 37 weeks...

Gender: I'm going with boy. We find out for sure TOMORROW! I'm SO excited!!

Belly Button in or out? Still in. It looks so funny to me! LOL!

What I miss: As much as I LOVE being pregnant, I would have really liked a glass of wine on my wedding anniversary (which was July 22nd). My sister had a dinner party for us and she had made some sangria, it looked SOO yummy. But I was a good girl, and I only drank water. I did smell a beer though, I used to LOVE beer and just had to smell it!

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! Tomorrow is the big day!! I can't believe it!

Milestones: To me, everything is a milestone. I try to celebrate every day. I was reading one of the blogs that I follow this morning, the author of the blog is 36 weeks pregnant and her whole pregnancy has been a worry. I can completely see how it can be that way. There are so many things that go on during pregnancy that you can't control. I'm determined to enjoy my pregnancy regardless of uncontrollable circumstances.

Weekly wisdom: Time really does fly. I used to roll my eyes when people would say, "This pregnancy is going by so quickly!" Now I see exactly what they meant. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was 12 weeks, now I'm 18. Wow!!

Here's my 18 week belly pic that was taken this morning. What do you think? Has my belly gotten bigger? I noticed that my stomach is starting to pouch out right under where my bra sits. I still think I'm pretty tiny for 18 weeks, but when I read WTE (What to Expect When You're Expecting), and notice that my uterus hasn't reached my belly button yet, I feel better.

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Soooo excited!!

I can't believe that my husband and I (hopefully) get to find out the gender of our baby on Wednesday! I'm so excited. I really hope that they can tell, I plan on drinking tons of orange juice before the appointment. Time is flying by, I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow. It still doesn't seem real. I swear just yesterday I was 6 weeks...

We're getting to the point that we're talking about registering and babyshowers. Sometimes I have to stop myself and I think, "Am I really talking about MY babyshower, and registering for MY baby?!?!?" It felt like we would never get to this point, especially after experiencing a miscarriage. I'm so thankful for every day.

I'm still thinking boy. I'll probably fall over if it turns out that I have a baby girl in my tummy!

Follow up to yesterday's post

I just realized that I'm not that great at responding to people's comments. I'm going to try to work on that. My goal is to respond to every one's comments/questions, so if there is anything that you'd like to ask me, please feel free!

Oh, my husband felt Bunny move yesterday!! It was such a wonderful moment! We had just finished eating (we had KFC for dinner), and we were laying on the couch watching TV when I noticed that Bunny was particularly active, so I grabbed my husband's hand, placed in on my stomach and said, "Do you feel that?" To my surprise, he did! A few minutes later, I put his hand back on my stomach, and we both saw his hand move! The baby was flipping all around. It's still so early for movement, I'm so amazed that we have such an active baby and that I can feel it.

My husband also bought the baby carrier that I wanted! I was so surprised. It's by Chicco. And he picked a gender neutral color, what a great guy!

Samantha, feeling movement is SO awesome, I'm sure you'll start to feel it soon. It can easily be confused with (sorry if TMI) gas! I'm TOTALLY jealous that you got to find out the gender of your little one, I can't wait for that!!

Ms. Understood, my coworker is in her 50s. She is like my "work mom", I just adore her. We used to carpool together. (We were actually carpooling during my last pregnancy). I would talk to her about my family, and she'd tell me about hers. We grew really close. She was one of the first people that I told about this pregnancy. And her reaction still makes me smile. She yelled, "You're PREGNANT!!!" and gave me a huge hug. We were both standing at the copy machine the other day, and she turned to me and patted my belly. Then she hugged me, and whispered in my ear in the sweetest way, "You're showing!" As I pulled back from the hug, she had tears in her eyes as I told her that I was 17 weeks and that we get to find out the gender next week. She wants to throw my baby shower. How sweet is that?? It's funny how coworkers can turn into friends, and friends can turn into family. It's nice to have her around, especially when I'm missing my biological mother.

17 Weeks!! (Someone pinch me!!)

How far along? 17 weeks!! I can't believe how close I am to being halfway through this pregnancy. Wow!

Total weight gain/loss: I lost another two pounds since my last doctor's appointment. I think it brings my total weight loss to around 8-10lbs. I'm working on gaining it back, it's harder than it seems.

Sleep: Hasn't been the greatest. Since I'm at the point where I can't sleep on my back or stomach, it's harder for me to find a comfortable position. I have a body pillow (just the regular ones that you can get from Bed, Bath & Beyond) but I find that one of my limbs falls asleep every night. Also Bunny's movement has gotten even stronger, to the point that it wakes me up in the middle of the night (this is SO not a complaint, I love feeling Bunny move), but it's hard to go back to sleep afterwards.

Food cravings: None really, I eat what's available since I'm trying to gain weight.

Best moment this week: Having my favorite coworker tell me that I'm showing. The way she said it was SO sweet, and there were almost tears in her eyes. Made my heart melt. Also, my husband and I bought a few baby essentials over the week including onesies and socks. And we tried out cloth diapers and fell in love!

Movement: Most definitely! It's getting stronger and stronger. I just love it, I haven't used my doppler since I started to feel movement. I no longer need the reassurance it gave me.

Labor Signs: NO! I don't even want to think about this until 37 weeks...

Gender: I'm going with boy. We find out for sure on the 29th!! So excited!

Belly Button in or out? It's in, just really shallow. I think it's going to be funny if/when it pops out.

What I miss: Being able to stand and walk around for awhile without getting lightheaded and dizzy. I was at my favorite store TARGET, and felt like I was going to pass out.

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! 8 more days until the big day!!!!

Milestones: I feel like this entire pregnancy has been a milestone. The fact that we got pregnant so quickly after our miscarriage in December was great, and to be at this point is just wonderful. I'm so happy to be here.

Weekly wisdom: The more water, the better. I wasn't drinking nearly as much. My midwife told me to drink 60 ounces a day.

Is Bunny a girl or a boy?? Help me guess!!

I'm so excited about (hopefully) being able to determine Bunny's gender next week. I feel like it will make things so much more REAL, and I'm just excited beyond belief.

My gut is telling me that Bunny is a boy. (And a lot of the Old Wives' Tales point to boy as well.) I also did the Chinese Gender Predictor and that said boy. But I've had a feeling all along.

THEN, you get to Bunny's heart rate, and that points to girl. My neighbor that is due right around the same time as me, shared her baby's heart rate and they are REALLY similar. And she's having a girl.

But I'm still going with boy, I think.... LOL!

What do you think, am I on Team Pink or Team Blue?

"Hey Honey! Come feel this!!"

That's what I've been shouting to my husband all weekend. When I'm at home, you can always find me in one place, lounging in bed. It's my favorite place to hang out. I have my own DVR in the bedroom, so I can catch up on all my favorite shows. My husband brings me all kinds of goodies to eat in bed, and the bathroom is super close. Convenient huh?

So, as I'm lounging in bed watching TV, I feel Bunny moving. I yell to my husband to come in the room and put his hand on my tummy (he's in the living room with the flat screen TV), he runs in and waits.... nothing. Bunny stops moving. He waits for a minute, then says, "I don't feel anything." I pout and tell him he can go back in the living room. As SOON as he leaves, the baby starts doing somersaults in there. I swear, I envision my child bouncing off the walls, that's how strong the movement is. And it happens EVERY TIME. I tell my husband to come feel, baby stops moving, my husband looks at me like I'm crazy and returns to the living room, the baby moves again, I yell again, husband comes, baby stops moving, hubby rolls eyes and leaves, baby practices karate.... And repeat!

I know that there will come a time when my husband will feel it. But I'm just SO stoked about all this movement that I want him to feel it NOW! (And my pregnancy HORRORmones make me really impatient.....)

It just amazes me that there is a little person inside my belly that is moving around. It brings a smile to my face every time.

We checked out some cloth diapers and decided which one we're going to go with. I'm excited about that. Now all we need to determine is the gender, and we can start SHOPPING!! C'mon 18 weeks!!!

Movement

I'm just SO excited about it. I mentioned in my 16 week post that I was feeling the baby. I had felt a few flutters and pops, but nothing major. Boy oh boy has that changed. I swear I'm feeling kicks and rolls. It is awesome! When I put my hand on my belly I can feel movement from the outside as well. It's the greatest feeling ever!

I can't wait until my husband can feel it!!

16 week appointment

I had my 16 week appointment today. There was a ton of confusion when I first arrived. My original appointment was scheduled for yesterday afternoon. My midwife called in sick, so they asked me to reschedule my appointment. No big deal, except they wanted to reschedule me for July 29, 2010. Umm.. NO!! That's too far out, besides, I decided to go ahead and do the Quad Screen testing (the results don't matter, I just want to be prepared either way) and I needed it done before 18 weeks, so the timing wouldn't work out.

I called back, nearly in tears asking if there was any way that I could be seen sooner. They agreed to have me come in today at 10:45AM, but I had to go to another location. No problem. I arrived this morning, checked in, got weighed (I lost almost two pounds since my last appointment) got my blood pressure checked and then the nurse asked me, "So, what brings you in today?" I told her that I was in for my 16 week appointment and to complete the second portion of the Quad Screen test. She looked surprised, and called out to the woman at the front. Neither of them had any of my information. Then the woman at the front desk says, "Oh, she's here to get pregnancy confirmation." I told them that I did not need to confirm my pregnancy, I'm already 4 months pregnant and have had several ultrasounds, etc. They still didn't get it. I was put in a room and sat there for nearly 20 minutes. Finally my midwife comes in, I tell her about the confusion and she apologizes, whips out the doppler and checks Bunny's heart beat. It was 159 bpm. We go over all the questions that I had and talked about my delivery options. She really put my mind at ease.

Overall, they said that I'm really healthy, the baby looks good, but they are going to closely monitor me because a note on my last ultrasound said that my placenta was "possibly" low lying. I'm not really freaked out about that because I remember the ultrasound tech clearly stated that it was too early for them to determine whether or not my placenta was low because I was still so early in pregnancy.

I was measuring 11w6d at my last ultrasound, so technically I'm 16w6d, but my doctor didn't change anything in the system.

16 Weeks!!!! 4 Months pregnant! Woo-hoo!!

How far along? 16 weeks! I am officially 4 months pregnant! When I first got my BFP, it seemed like it would take FOREVER to make it to 4 months (I was almost 4 weeks when I found out I was pregnant). Now that I'm here, it seems like it flew by! I'll really relax once I hit 6 months though...

Total weight gain/loss: Still in the negative, I'm going to get the official report from the doctor on Thursday.

Sleep: I've been able to stay up later. Yay me!!! And my husband and I actually do activities together now. I even ran some errands after work, before I'd never be able to do that, I was a complete zombie. It feels good to have more energy.

Food cravings: Cheeseburgers. I think I've had four this week. I crave them so badly that I can taste them, and then I HAVE to get some. I went to the drive-thru at White Castle yesterday and ate 4 cheeseburgers before I even made it to the stoplight. Which you can see from the drive-thru window.... I had to laugh at myself.

Best moment this week: Feeling Bunny move!! I now feel it everyday, it feels like popcorn is popping in my tummy. My other best moment was finally deciding on names. We'll be prepared when we find out the gender. Sorry, but we're not sharing yet! Stay tuned, the big name reveal will probably take place with the gender reveal.

Movement: Yes!! Finally! I've been waiting for this since day one. Now I can't wait for my husband to be able to feel from the outside.

Labor Signs: No thank you.... I did have a scare on Friday where I my back was aching and I was having some cramping. I left work early and went home to meet my husband. We were going to take a trip to the ER to get checked out but thankfully all the pain stopped. I was able to find the heartbeat and wasn't bleeding, so the nurse at my doctors office told me I probably over did it at work (which I did) and was experiencing round ligament pain (which I was, and still have). It was SO scary though, I'm so glad that everything is okay.

Gender: Still thinking boy, we'll find out for sure in a two weeks!!! I've booked a private ultrasound just in case my doctor doesn't schedule me until 20 weeks.

Belly Button in or out? It's in, and I don't think it's coming out for a LONG time.

What I miss: Being able to do things without feeling run down and out of breath.

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! I have SO many wishlists scattered around the internet, I can't wait to actually purchase some things.

Milestones: 4 months pregnant!!!!!!!!!!! I'm completely over the moon excited!

Weekly wisdom: Get some rest. I learned that just because I didn't really "feel" pregnant, that doesn't mean that I can still go at the pace that I used to. I'm learning how to kick my feet up and relax.

Weight loss

Ugh.... I'm STILL losing weight. I'm not sure what's going on, but it's starting to worry me a bit. (I know I'll probably be eating these words in a few months when I start looking/feeling like a hot air balloon.)

I stepped on the scale yesterday NIGHT, and couldn't believe it. I called my husband in the bathroom to verify, and yes, I'm still not gaining anything. Hopefully they'll have some recommendations for me at my appointment this week. I thought I would have gained a few pounds by now.

I've also been feeling dizzy lately. Hubby and I went fishing with our neighbors (who are AWESOME!), and I kept having to sit down because I had tunnel vision. It was scary. I was hydrated, and had just eaten so I'm not sure what the problem was. I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor about it. I just want Bunny to be safe and sound in there.

Another bump pic and why I'm scared of Buy Buy Baby...

Since no one lost their eyesight from the last pictures I posted, I decided to upload what I woke up to this morning. My belly seemed to pop slightly. This is before I ate breakfast also. My husband even noticed it, and for the longest time he would say that I still looked the same to him. I'm wearing the maternity jean capri pants that I got from JC Penny. They're kind of saggy on me, but oh so comfortable!!

Just an FYI.... There are a couple bare belly shots included in this post.....

15w3D

My coworkers even commented on my growing belly when I came in this morning. Everyone agrees that I'll probably really start showing at 20 weeks.
On to my story about the store Buy Buy Baby....
Hubby and I were bored yesterday when we got home from work, so we decided to go take a look at baby items. Neither of us had ever been to Buy Buy Baby before so we were both thinking it was like a "normal" store. Ummm... NO!! We were SO wrong. I wish someone could have taken a picture of our faces when we walked in. I'm sure my jaw was on the floor. It's like a Sam's Club or Costco for baby's. There were items stacked from floor to ceiling. TV's showing commercials, tons of displays, and too many colors. I actually felt intimidated. We didn't know where to start, especially since we weren't looking for anything in particular. So we started to walk around. I had no idea that they were 750,000 types of swaddle blankets. (Well, maybe that's a slight over exaggeration...) But seriously, there was so much in there!
Finally we went straight to the items that we knew for a fact that we would need. Pack & Plays and strollers. I'm glad we took a look because the stroller that I was for SURE that I'd want, was actually horrible. It was so heavy when it collapsed that I couldn't even pick it up. My husband even struggled with it.
Now I'm afraid that my kid is only going to have items from Target and Walmart because I'm too darn scared to go back to that place, LOL!! I guess I could always register online!
But it was a lesson learned, know what you want and what you need before you blindly go into a store.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Just a few pics...

I know what you're thinking.... SHE FINALLY POSTED A BELLY PIC! Sorry for the delay. I'm too lazy to do it in the morning, and I'm too tired in the afternoon. I also apologize for the quality (or lack of). I took this picture this morning on my camera phone. I went to work late because I had a dentist appointment. One of my fillings came out and caused me to have a brain/ear/jaw splitting toothache. I'll have to post about that later....

Without further delay, here is my 15 week 1 day belly pic:

Before you start throwing things at the computer and calling me a liar because you see a "bump", please believe me when I say this picture makes me look pregnant, or at least more pregnant. It's also very close up. So I took another one so you get a more realistic view of how tiny my actual bump is. Also, I pulled my dress back, because when it's flowing you can't see a darn thing.... (WARNING!! I do not have any make up on, my hair is thrown back in a bun, and my smile is super fake because my jaw felt like it was going to fall off!! ) Scroll down at your own risk!! LOL!

So, whaddya think? Tiny or not?

Things that irritate me...

(DISCLAIMER: The following post was written out of frustration. Please proceed with caution..

Thanks,

Preggo)

I've decided to make a list of things that irritate me while I'm pregnant. It seems like now that pretty much the whole world knows that I'm expecting, they feel the need to share their two cents with me, and it's getting on my nerves!! This is not in any way directed to my blogger friends. I appreciate all of your comments and suggestions, this is only regarding the people that I come in contact with while out and about.

1. People saying, "Oh my GOD, are you okay???" When I tell them I'm nearly 4 months pregnant. Yes, I'm fine, my baby is fine, I know I'm not showing, but I will eventually. (I don't just go around shouting that I'm pregnant, this was the reaction of the sales lady from JC Penny when I asked her where the Maternity section was. She was trying to convince me not to buy maternity jeans yet, because my weight may fluctuate in the 1st Trimester and I may be able to wear my regular jeans for awhile. I'm in the 2nd Trimester.....)

2. People touching my stomach. Guess what? The baby still isn't fully out of my pelvic area, so in order for you to "touch the baby" you'd pretty much have to grab my crotch. And I'm pretty sure that I'd call the cops on you for groping me. So don't touch!

3. People telling me that I shouldn't diet or try to watch my weight while pregnant. I've never gained weight rapidly, so I'm actually not surprised that I'm not huge right now. If I actually SAID I was dieting then maybe they should tell me not too. But if I'm ordering a Hot & Ready with extra cheese, please don't tell me not to diet!!

4. People asking if I'm really as far along as I think I am. Hmm... let me ponder that.... No, I'm actually not as far along as I think I am. I'm farther! Bunny was actually measuring 3 days ahead at my last ultrasound. So there!

5. People asking me if my pregnancy was planned. Why do they feel that it concerns them? I don't feel that question should be asked regardless of what the situation is.

6. People telling me that I'm going to turn into a whale at the end of my pregnancy because I'm not really showing now. Gee, thanks! That's just what every woman wants to hear, regardless if she has a orange sized baby in her uterus or not. I've always adored Free Willy! It's nice knowing I'll look like his cousin, Willamina at the end of my pregnancy!

That's all I have for now...

15 Weeks!

How far along? 15 weeks, I'm in shock, I can't believe I've made it this far. Only 25 weeks to go!!

Total weight gain/loss: I didn't weigh myself this week.

Sleep: Still loving it! My poor husband, I've become so boring, I think he's going insane trying to keep himself entertained. Hopefully I'll get my energy back soon.

Food cravings: STILL frozen Strawberry Lemonade from McDonald's. I even got my husband hooked, it is SOO good!!

Best moment this week: Catching a huge sale at JC Penny's. I scored 2 pairs of maternity work pants, two pair of maternity jeans, and one pair of maternity jean carpi's. All for under $90 total! SCORE!!! And I can fit them all now, with room to grow!

Movement: Not feeling anything yet, hopefully soon, I'm getting anxious!

Labor Signs: No thank you....

Gender: Still thinking boy, we'll find out for sure in a few weeks.

Belly Button in or out? It's in, and I don't think it's coming out for a LONG time.

What I miss: I miss not feeling sick and getting dizzy when it's hot outside.

What I am looking forward to: Feeling movement, finding out the gender, looking pregnant to others, etc.

Milestones: One more week until I hit 4 months! Seriously? I feel like this is a dream!

Weekly wisdom: Try to appreciate each day.

Round ligament pain and the inevitable doppler freakout

I read in one of my pregnancy books that round ligament pain (RLP) is "slightly uncomfortable" and is common starting around 12 or 13 weeks. Well, they lied. I've been experiencing this pain since around 8 weeks, and it's not "slightly uncomfortable", it hurts!! It's been more noticeable lately, and seems to be more apparent at night. But it reminds me that there is a baby in my ute that is causing it to have to stretch and grow.

I should have kept that in mind when I tried to find Bunny's heart beat this morning. Usually I would find it around my bikini line, so, that was the first place I checked. It sounded really, really faint and made me nervous as heck. Then I couldn't find it anymore, so I'm searching all around going from one side to the other hands shaking because I can't hear that precious sound. I took a break for awhile, but it was really bothering me, so I decided to try again. Same thing, the heart beat sounded really faint. The monitor on the doppler wasn't even picking up the beats per minute. Finally, I went up a little bit higher and I could hear the heart beat a little bit more. I went higher, and there it was! There was the sound that still brings tears to my eyes, it was loud and clear. I was shocked that Bunny was so high up, sure I'd been having RLP, but for some reason it didn't actually register that my uterus was growing. I found Bunny's heart beat about an inch and a half above my bikini line. Amazing!! So of course I cried, and then I decided to reward myself with a popsicle. Yes, I ate a popsicle at 8:30 in the morning! LOL! I'm so addicted to them.

This doppler freak out was bound to happen. But I'm so glad that it was an easy solution....

Funny story

Yesterday my husband and I were at Target (our favorite store, which happens to be right behind our house, and may be part of the reason that we moved there, LOL!) shopping for some maternity jeans for me. I never knew how expensive those things are! Geez!

While we were there, we decided to go take a look at some baby items. My husband wants to keep a Pack & Play in our room at least for the first few weeks/months, so we can nap when the baby naps, and have a mini changing station available. My husband wants the Eddie Bower Pack & Play, which looks boyish to me, so I convinced him to look around at a few different brands. And then my husband saw it.... The Eddie Bower super-deluxe-run-someone-off-the-road stroller, that matched the Pack & Play. That thing was HUGE, and he loved it. Especially since it looked "manly" to him. I, however, had my doubts. So we're looking at this stroller that comes with an infant carrier, and we couldn't figure out how to snap the carrier into the stroller. We soon figured out that the base was still attached to the car seat. My husband takes the car seat off the display stroller, and starts yanking on it trying to free it from the base. We're both trying to find the directions, flipping it over, yanking on it some more, pushing buttons, etc. We couldn't figure it out!! I swear we were doing that for like 20 minutes, when finally my husband found the right button and out pops the car seat from the base! Hooray!! He's standing there smiling, his forehead glistening with sweat, while I'm standing there smiling with my hair all over my head from being bent over so long. And I had thrown my sweater and purse on the ground in an attempt to help him out! So we had things everywhere, and looked a mess. It was too funny! First time parents for sure!

I think I've convinced him not to get the Eddie Bower strollers because the car seat was super heavy. I was struggling to hold it and there wasn't even a baby in there. No way could I carry that, and a diaper bag with a coat on (Bunny is due in December so I try to think about how much heavier things will be when we're both bundled up).
