Poor, poor buttons and pregnancy cravings...

I guess I got a little too comfortable with the fact that I can still fit into my regular clothes, and wore a sweater BUTTONED to work last week.  At lunch, I looked down and noticed that it looked like the sweater was screaming as it tried to cover my belly.  Here's a pic:

Poor buttons.....  Needless to say, I unbuttoned the sweater and wore it open for the rest of the day.  LOL!

Also, DH and I were at the store and I caught a whiff of something delicious as I walked past the bakery.  That one whiff resulted in the deliciousness that is pictured below:

It's called a Bouquet Cupcake.  And it looks SOOO yummy!  I was all set to chomp on it, but then I felt guilty about eating so many sweets before the glucose test.  It'll probably sit in the fridge until the middle of the night when I wake up wanting a snack.  Yummy!  I can't wait to taste it.   The cupcake is HUGE, the picture doesn't show it's real size.  Pregnancy cravings at their finest!

Thanks for all the suggestions/comments about the glucose testing/skinny jeans.  I found some on Old Navy's website, and I have a 40% off coupon, so they might be my next purchase.  Hooray for pregnancy fashion!

A first for me....

I'm still laughing about this. I was sleeping, and I mean totally knocked out. I remember dreaming about wanting ice cream, so in my dream I drove to Dairy Queen. Once there, I ordered like 10 items, but the only one I remember is the hot fudge sundae, and oh it was delicious!

The dream woke me up out of my sleep!!! And what did I do? I went straight to the freezer, and I am now eating Cookies & Cream ice cream, out of the tub while watching TV and reading blogs. Wow! That was the first time I have EVER woke up out of my sleep to indulge in a craving.

I just had to write this down for future reference.

Grocery shopping

Pregnant women should be banned from grocery stores. Well... maybe I should just be banned. My husband and I went to the grocery store, because we had been neglecting to do so for awhile. What did we come home with? Well, thanks to me, we bought the following items:

Tortilla chips
Salsa
Juice
Pickles
Ice cream
Waffles
Milk

Doesn't that grocery list sound great? LOL! I've been craving pickles and waffles for some reason, and I had chips and salsa yesterday so I thought I'd buy some. And then I found myself in the ice cream isle, drooling over the tub of cookies and cream.

I'm sure my cravings will only get worse as I progress throughout this pregnancy. Oh dear!

Food cravings

For the first time in this pregnancy, there are actually a few food items that I desire. It makes me feel so good to think about eating something, and not want to throw up. Although the nausea is subsiding, I still have a few pukey moments.

The list of things I'm currently enjoying (food wise) are:

Pickles - I ate a WHOLE jar on Tuesday, and half a jar yesterday. I just can't get enough!!
Lemonade - Not the cheap kind, LOL! But the Simply Lemonade, and Nantucket Nectar's Lemonade.
Pretzels - Since my appetite has kind of picked up, I find that I'm hungry after I eat. Pretzels have been a lifesaver. They are just salty enough, and are so yummy! I ate a WHOLE bag yesterday. Not the small personal sized bags, but the regular family sized bag. I need to slow down though, although they were a brand that had less sodium, I still shouldn't be eating that much salt. But I'm drawn to salty foods.

That's about it. I'm usually a cheese fanatic, but I find the taste of mozzarella cheese to be unpleasant. I was bringing string cheese to work for a quick snack, but after one bite I had to throw it away.

I've decided to take a more positive stance regarding my pregnancy and just try to enjoy it. I can't control the outcome, good or bad, so I might as well relax and just go along for the ride.
