Pictures

I meant to post these pictures yesterday, sorry for the delay!

Oh, and I was too lazy to edit out my name.

Hi, I'm Ciana Vaughn, nice to meet you! (Please don't try to steal my identity! LOL!)

I'm at work and I have a meeting to attend, so enjoy the pics! I'll try to write a real post later. (Yeah, meeting was cancelled.)

I'm proud to announce that my baby girl is completely healthy according to the ultrasound, and my results from the Integrated Screening Test was NEGATIVE! Woo-hoo!! Her heart is healthy, all her organs are in the right place, she has all her fingers and toes, and we are so happy.

Happy Friday!

Ultrasounds

Yesterday it seemed like all the forces were against my husband and I as we were trying to make it to our ultrasound appointment yesterday. I got off work late, it was POURING down rain to the point that we couldn't see the lines on the road, and I forgot all the paperwork and money at home.
We finally arrived 5 minutes after our scheduled appointment time, which wasn't bad considering....

The facility was so nice, there were couches everywhere and in the actual ultrasound room there was a flat screen TV and a projector screen so you could see everything. It was great! The tech starts probing around, and she says, "I can't get a great shot, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're having." In my mind, I'm thinking 'BOY!', then she says, "A GIRL!!!!!" I think my jaw hit the floor. Literally. You could've knocked me over with a feather.

I didn't say anything because I was in total and complete shock. So she starts taking pictures and showing us her little hands and feet, and then we got it. The money shot, and it was so easy to see that she was all girl.

We received a few photos and a DVD from that appointment. The money shot picture didn't get printed because she ran out of paper! I was so sad about that. But she did throw in a ton of 4D pictures (not printed but on the CD), so that was nice of her. I could tell that she felt bad about it.

As soon as we got in the car, we called EVERYONE! My mother in law started crying, she wanted a granddaughter so badly! I'm glad I'm going to be able to give her one. We're probably going to do one more 4d ultrasound before Little Miss Priss arrives. Just for more pictures and memories.
I had another ultrasound appointment this morning. This one was my 18 week fetal survey. I didn't say anything to the tech about having found out the gender, just to see if she was on the same page. And she was! She noticed that we were having a girl right away. We got to see all of her parts from her kidneys, to her tongue. It was awesome! I'm so in love already, and nearly cry everything I think about her.

She is measuring right on track, and ahead in a few areas. Also, the placenta is at the back of my uterus (posterior), which is why I probably feel so much movement. Oh, and there is NO PLACENTA PREVIA!! YAY!!!!!!!!! The placenta was nice and high. I'm beyond excited, and just want her to keep growing and stay in there until December 20th at least!! Now I can start shopping!!!!!!

18 Weeks!! (With a bare belly pic) **EDITED**

I added another pic, this time with my belly covered by my shirt. I think my bump looks bigger with clothes (but I also have a Bella Band on, which could make it look bigger...), oh and please excuse the background, I was in the bathroom at my job. Sorry for rambling!

How far along? 18 Weeks! I can't believe I'm already four and a half months pregnant!

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure what this weeks weight gain/loss was. I can almost guarantee I'm still down a few lbs.

Sleep: I've developed a new pregnancy symptom. Leg cramps. I had them two or three nights in a row and they HURT! I started flexing and stretching my legs before I get into the bed and it seems to help. Other than that, sleep has been good.

Food cravings: Still haven't had any major cravings, I ate a lot of pizza over the past week. But I didn't CRAVE it...

Best moment this week: It is going to be finding out the gender! We find out tomorrow!! Woo-hoo!!!

Movement: Every day. We are going to have one active child on our hands. Now I start to worry if 20 minutes goes by and I haven't felt anything. I usually feel movement pretty much all day.

Labor Signs: NO! I don't even want to think about this until 37 weeks...

Gender: I'm going with boy. We find out for sure TOMORROW! I'm SO excited!!

Belly Button in or out? Still in. It looks so funny to me! LOL!

What I miss: As much as I LOVE being pregnant, I would have really liked a glass of wine on my wedding anniversary (which was July 22nd). My sister had a dinner party for us and she had made some sangria, it looked SOO yummy. But I was a good girl, and I only drank water. I did smell a beer though, I used to LOVE beer and just had to smell it!

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! Tomorrow is the big day!! I can't believe it!

Milestones: To me, everything is a milestone. I try to celebrate every day. I was reading one of the blogs that I follow this morning, the author of the blog is 36 weeks pregnant and her whole pregnancy has been a worry. I can completely see how it can be that way. There are so many things that go on during pregnancy that you can't control. I'm determined to enjoy my pregnancy regardless of uncontrollable circumstances.

Weekly wisdom: Time really does fly. I used to roll my eyes when people would say, "This pregnancy is going by so quickly!" Now I see exactly what they meant. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was 12 weeks, now I'm 18. Wow!!

Here's my 18 week belly pic that was taken this morning. What do you think? Has my belly gotten bigger? I noticed that my stomach is starting to pouch out right under where my bra sits. I still think I'm pretty tiny for 18 weeks, but when I read WTE (What to Expect When You're Expecting), and notice that my uterus hasn't reached my belly button yet, I feel better.

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Soooo excited!!

I can't believe that my husband and I (hopefully) get to find out the gender of our baby on Wednesday! I'm so excited. I really hope that they can tell, I plan on drinking tons of orange juice before the appointment. Time is flying by, I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow. It still doesn't seem real. I swear just yesterday I was 6 weeks...

We're getting to the point that we're talking about registering and babyshowers. Sometimes I have to stop myself and I think, "Am I really talking about MY babyshower, and registering for MY baby?!?!?" It felt like we would never get to this point, especially after experiencing a miscarriage. I'm so thankful for every day.

I'm still thinking boy. I'll probably fall over if it turns out that I have a baby girl in my tummy!

Follow up to yesterday's post

I just realized that I'm not that great at responding to people's comments. I'm going to try to work on that. My goal is to respond to every one's comments/questions, so if there is anything that you'd like to ask me, please feel free!

Oh, my husband felt Bunny move yesterday!! It was such a wonderful moment! We had just finished eating (we had KFC for dinner), and we were laying on the couch watching TV when I noticed that Bunny was particularly active, so I grabbed my husband's hand, placed in on my stomach and said, "Do you feel that?" To my surprise, he did! A few minutes later, I put his hand back on my stomach, and we both saw his hand move! The baby was flipping all around. It's still so early for movement, I'm so amazed that we have such an active baby and that I can feel it.

My husband also bought the baby carrier that I wanted! I was so surprised. It's by Chicco. And he picked a gender neutral color, what a great guy!

Samantha, feeling movement is SO awesome, I'm sure you'll start to feel it soon. It can easily be confused with (sorry if TMI) gas! I'm TOTALLY jealous that you got to find out the gender of your little one, I can't wait for that!!

Ms. Understood, my coworker is in her 50s. She is like my "work mom", I just adore her. We used to carpool together. (We were actually carpooling during my last pregnancy). I would talk to her about my family, and she'd tell me about hers. We grew really close. She was one of the first people that I told about this pregnancy. And her reaction still makes me smile. She yelled, "You're PREGNANT!!!" and gave me a huge hug. We were both standing at the copy machine the other day, and she turned to me and patted my belly. Then she hugged me, and whispered in my ear in the sweetest way, "You're showing!" As I pulled back from the hug, she had tears in her eyes as I told her that I was 17 weeks and that we get to find out the gender next week. She wants to throw my baby shower. How sweet is that?? It's funny how coworkers can turn into friends, and friends can turn into family. It's nice to have her around, especially when I'm missing my biological mother.

17 Weeks!! (Someone pinch me!!)

How far along? 17 weeks!! I can't believe how close I am to being halfway through this pregnancy. Wow!

Total weight gain/loss: I lost another two pounds since my last doctor's appointment. I think it brings my total weight loss to around 8-10lbs. I'm working on gaining it back, it's harder than it seems.

Sleep: Hasn't been the greatest. Since I'm at the point where I can't sleep on my back or stomach, it's harder for me to find a comfortable position. I have a body pillow (just the regular ones that you can get from Bed, Bath & Beyond) but I find that one of my limbs falls asleep every night. Also Bunny's movement has gotten even stronger, to the point that it wakes me up in the middle of the night (this is SO not a complaint, I love feeling Bunny move), but it's hard to go back to sleep afterwards.

Food cravings: None really, I eat what's available since I'm trying to gain weight.

Best moment this week: Having my favorite coworker tell me that I'm showing. The way she said it was SO sweet, and there were almost tears in her eyes. Made my heart melt. Also, my husband and I bought a few baby essentials over the week including onesies and socks. And we tried out cloth diapers and fell in love!

Movement: Most definitely! It's getting stronger and stronger. I just love it, I haven't used my doppler since I started to feel movement. I no longer need the reassurance it gave me.

Labor Signs: NO! I don't even want to think about this until 37 weeks...

Gender: I'm going with boy. We find out for sure on the 29th!! So excited!

Belly Button in or out? It's in, just really shallow. I think it's going to be funny if/when it pops out.

What I miss: Being able to stand and walk around for awhile without getting lightheaded and dizzy. I was at my favorite store TARGET, and felt like I was going to pass out.

What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!! 8 more days until the big day!!!!

Milestones: I feel like this entire pregnancy has been a milestone. The fact that we got pregnant so quickly after our miscarriage in December was great, and to be at this point is just wonderful. I'm so happy to be here.

Weekly wisdom: The more water, the better. I wasn't drinking nearly as much. My midwife told me to drink 60 ounces a day.

Is Bunny a girl or a boy?? Help me guess!!

I'm so excited about (hopefully) being able to determine Bunny's gender next week. I feel like it will make things so much more REAL, and I'm just excited beyond belief.

My gut is telling me that Bunny is a boy. (And a lot of the Old Wives' Tales point to boy as well.) I also did the Chinese Gender Predictor and that said boy. But I've had a feeling all along.

THEN, you get to Bunny's heart rate, and that points to girl. My neighbor that is due right around the same time as me, shared her baby's heart rate and they are REALLY similar. And she's having a girl.

But I'm still going with boy, I think.... LOL!

What do you think, am I on Team Pink or Team Blue?

"Hey Honey! Come feel this!!"

That's what I've been shouting to my husband all weekend. When I'm at home, you can always find me in one place, lounging in bed. It's my favorite place to hang out. I have my own DVR in the bedroom, so I can catch up on all my favorite shows. My husband brings me all kinds of goodies to eat in bed, and the bathroom is super close. Convenient huh?

So, as I'm lounging in bed watching TV, I feel Bunny moving. I yell to my husband to come in the room and put his hand on my tummy (he's in the living room with the flat screen TV), he runs in and waits.... nothing. Bunny stops moving. He waits for a minute, then says, "I don't feel anything." I pout and tell him he can go back in the living room. As SOON as he leaves, the baby starts doing somersaults in there. I swear, I envision my child bouncing off the walls, that's how strong the movement is. And it happens EVERY TIME. I tell my husband to come feel, baby stops moving, my husband looks at me like I'm crazy and returns to the living room, the baby moves again, I yell again, husband comes, baby stops moving, hubby rolls eyes and leaves, baby practices karate.... And repeat!

I know that there will come a time when my husband will feel it. But I'm just SO stoked about all this movement that I want him to feel it NOW! (And my pregnancy HORRORmones make me really impatient.....)

It just amazes me that there is a little person inside my belly that is moving around. It brings a smile to my face every time.

We checked out some cloth diapers and decided which one we're going to go with. I'm excited about that. Now all we need to determine is the gender, and we can start SHOPPING!! C'mon 18 weeks!!!
