Ramblings, thoughts, emotions, and beliefs....

Okay folks, there comes a point where one simply cannot keep ones thoughts in ones head.  (If you haven't yet figured it out, the one I'm referring to is ME.)  I've been sitting on this post for WEEKS, and just now gathered the courage to click PUBLISH.

I've read blogs where the authors ranted about things that were bothering them, and more often than not, left comments applauding them on their bravery.  Encouraging them to continue to say what they believe, mean what they say, and overlook anyone who said otherwise.  Well, my friends, now it is my turn.  Please note that it is not my intention to offend anyone, I just have to express myself.

The statement below is what I am referring to in this post:
"It was all in God's plan."

That statement hurts my heart.  Especially when it is used to reference some type of sickness, or loss, or devastation.

Before I started reading blogs, I must have been ignorant to the fact that people truly believed that God was the driving force behind them losing a child, or a relative, or being terminally ill, or infertile.  I've touched on this briefly in a previous post, but that just wasn't enough to allow me to feel satiated.

I just can't grasp how God can have qualities such as mercy, compassion, justice, grace, loving-kindness, etc., yet cause His children pain.  When I look at Yorlee, I want to do what is best for her, in every way that I can.  I will give her the best that I can, but ultimately the decision is hers when it comes to how she will live her life.  I believe that what we, as human beings, are currently experiencing is pain and suffering.  Why that choice of words?  Because suffering does not discriminate.  In circumstances where a woman who is addicted to illegal substances gets pregnant, and a woman who has been married for 5 years, goes to work every day, has a stable home, and means to provide is greeted with infertility, I chose not to believe that God chose those paths for them.  I do not believe that it was His plan.  I believe that both of those women are imperfect, and that is what caused their situations.

God created the human race to fulfill the earth and subdue it.  Humans were perfect when they were created, however Adam and Eve chose to disobey, and we are faced with the consequences.  I can't really comprehend why God would create the earth, and humans, to live in a paradise, and then snatch it away.  I wouldn't take Yorlee to Chuck E. Cheese's, let her see all of the flashing lights, hear the whooping of bells and the laughter of children, smell the freshly baked pizza, see all of the brightly colored prizes; and then right as she attempts to run and play, snatch her back and lead her back out the door while telling her it was Mommy's plan to see the sad look on her face as she walks away empty handed.

Do you get where I'm coming from?

I recently came across a blog where I read, "God gave me infertility", and it honestly broke my heart.  I felt so deeply for the person that wrote that.

My mother passed when I was 12 years old.  I can't imagine where I would be in life if I believed that God took her away from me purposefully.  Honestly, how mean would that be?  My mother passing away was simply because she was ill, in many different ways.  She was human.

To those of you who believe that the negative things that happen in our lives was due to God's plan, what caused you to believe that way?

The bible counts of times where Jesus healed the sick and raised the dead.  So in those instances, what was God's plan?  To cause them to be sick and die, only to have them healed and resurrected?  When babies are stillborn, what was His plan?  To have the parents anxiously and happily anticipate their new arrival, only to be devastated?  To watch as their friends and family members try to console them, unsuccessfully?

When a young child loses both parents in a tragic car crash, what was God's plan?  To punish the child?  To make the child appreciate the parents more?

I apologize for the nature of this post, but it was consuming me.  I had to express my thoughts and feelings.

If you are a parent, are your plans for your child(ren) not in the most loving of nature?  I wake up every day wanting the best for my daughter.  If she hurts, I hurt.  If she is sick, I care for her.  If she is sad, I comfort her.  That is what parents do.  Their "plan" is for their children to be happy and successful.  So to those who are "Children of God", why would it be any different?

I have so many other thoughts and opinions, but I think I've gotten enough off of my chest for now...

I believe that God doesn't make mistakes. That's what I feel is true. I'm not a bible thumper so I am not one who will leave you with quotes and verses from the bible. To be honest with you, I don't even go to church regularly and I don't even read the bible. I just have faith. I believe in God and I believe that things happen for a reason. I believe that God has a plan for each of our lives. Some of choose not to follow it. Others try and follow to the letter. I do believe that if God doesn't bless someone with children that it was entirely in the plan for that persons life. Maybe he saw them fit better to adpot or to foster or just not to parent. But it all goes back to the point or fact as I see that, God does not make mistakes.

I am glad and happy you wrote this post. It made me thing a lot about who to put together my words. I strongly believe that questioning God's mysterious ways is perfect and healthy. Hopefully, just like it happens to me it is a way to grow healthily in the faith. Those who don't question them tend to view Him in the wrong light.

NOTE: {{{My comment is long and I hope I managed to weigh my words so that answered some of your question and I don't offend your thoughts}}}

There have been times I have questioned God on other situations in life, but just like Krissy, I have faith and believe that God never means to snatch the beautiful life out of his children’s hands.

As you pointed out Adam and Eve disobeyed Him, and they were sent out of Eden, but we don't perpetually live with the consequences. God gives us health and happy life. But the consequence applies only when we disobey again.

There is always a reason to what the Almighty does.

To be honest I don't understand what causes infertility, but I am sure there is a deeper reason the woman wrote what she did.

In front of illness and death we might find it hard to believe that a loving God can also make people miserable and sad, but sometimes those are the moments we have to believe in God even more. Only in later date in life we come to understand why the illness or death happened to us in our life at young age.

God, like every parent, has a plan for his children, but once the children grow they choose different path that might lead them in the wrong way. If you remember of your Father he never send you back, just like the prodigal Son. God always accepts you back, but this doesn't apply to all parents.

Often I miss my father who died when I was very young. I know that God didn't take him away purposelly just to cause me pain and sadness. Or to punish me. I have come to the conclusion that if he was alive I wouldn’t be where I am at the moment, maybe I would have not experienced life in the way I am experiencing it now. And the same thing applies to my illness of 1999, that made me understand that I have a purpose in life which will come to fruition with prayers and hard work.

We life for a purpose in and God has a purpose for us. I believe that God makes our dreams or purposes come true at the right time, through hard work and prayers to show you the steps to it. One have to see light and positivity in everything.

When our time come to pass it will come no matter how one fights against it.

Once more Mrs V., this is a great post and never feel shy to click the PUBLISH button on challenging topics.

oh girlfriend.
I don't even know where to start with this post.
I try to tell myself that God can't give me more than I can handle; but like i have posted before sometimes I just cant handle it.
& when people tell me it was in gods plan when I miscarried & can't get pregnant now it like umm...
I try to stay in a non-questioning god state of mind. but sometimes its hard.
just so hard.

I love this post and your blog. Thanks for bravely sharing.
I think people may blame God for things unanswered because there is a tendency for us to believe that every question has an answer, everthing happens because of something...if science has no answer(for something negative) then it must be because of God. I do not believe that God takes babies, children, or any other person purposely. If this is true, why would God send out a serial killer or a rapist to kill? Just because it was their time? He would not want us to die an agaonzing death. Dying or cause of death is totally seperate from heaven/hell. I believe things happen...I do not know why, but they do, no need to over-analyze the situation.
