16 weeks 6 days with baby # 2
Just a quick picture. Not much to see as I'm STILL losing weight!! I don't know why my hair looks so crazy in the picture, it's actually pinned up into a really cute bun. But it looks like a mess here. LOL! I promise I don't go to work looking crazy!

16 Weeks
How far along? 16 weeks!!
Total weight gain/loss: Still haven't gained any weight yet. No longer concerned, I know I'll gain (and gain, and gain) in a few weeks.
Sleep: Not bad, but I'm forcing myself to get up in the middle of the night to use the restroom. If I feel the urge but don't give in, I have crazy dreams. If I wake up and then go back to sleep, all is well.

Best moment this week: Looking at some pictures of Yorlee when she was just a tiny baby, and realizing that I'm going to have another precious bundle in just a few months. Wow! Pregnancy is amazing!!
Movement: Yes! Taps and nudges here and there. I mainly notice them when I'm at work. Baby seems to chill out when I get home, either that or I'm to busy laying down watching my DVR to notice. OR, it could be that I'm to busy trying to prevent Yorlee from judo-chopping me in the stomach when I'm at home to notice. She is not very gentle with the belly.
Gender: No clue, can't wait to find out.
Labor Signs: This question always freaks me out. Thankfully no, it is way to soon!
Belly Button in or out? Still stuck in this weird in/out phase. I'm pretty sure it's going to pop sometime during this pregnancy.
What I miss: Having hunger that goes away after eating, having energy, not being so hormonal, etc.
What I am looking forward to: June 12th, I really want to know the gender!!
Milestones: Making it another week. I've also realized that I need to become a better planner, it would really take some stress off of me if I were more efficient with my time. Especially because I spend so much of the day feeling exhausted.
Weekly Wisdom: Plan, plan, plan! It makes for a much happier person at the end of the day.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
I have a secret... I have a major addiction.
Now, before you go calling CPS, let me tell you what it is:
I'm addicted to White Castle. It's really bad. Ineed want to eat their cheeseburgers every day. This morning I had my husband go get some at 8:40AM and bring it to my job.
Here's proof:
The main issue? I've had it for breakfast every day this week.
Someone help me....

Random thoughts from a highly emotional pregnant person
Please excuse this post in advance. Hopefully it doesn't come across as one big huge whine. But I really do feel like having a slight temper tantrum right now.
First things first, being pregnant and having a toddler is hard. HARD. Especially when your body is begging you to lay down and rest, and your cute as a button toddler is begging you to play. Never in my life could I ever have imagined that I could be this tired. Makes the newborn phase seem like a cake walk. I know it will be totally worth it in the end, and I'm happy that being pregnant and being a mom to a toddler is the reason that I am tired. But I never would have thought it would be as tough as it is.
Having an appetite that is absolutely, 100% insatiable is frustrating. Yesterday my husband cooked us a late lunch. As soon as I finished eating, my stomach felt like it was going to crawl out of my chest. Have you ever been too busy to eat, and then realized how hungry you were, only you weren't hungry, but you were famished? Yeah, well that's how I felt AFTER I had already eaten. I had to get another plate, and I was still hungry, so I drank a huge glass of water and finally felt somewhat full. That happens every day. I have noticed that if I drink a ton of water while I'm eating, it isn't as bad. But then I'm hungry again shortly after I eat.
Never before would I have imagined that giving birth makes you invincible, at least in the eyes of your spouse. My husband was so caring and thoughtful when I was pregnant with Yorlee. This time around, not so much. I can be carrying Yorlee, my purse, her daycare bag, my keys, and lunch bag, and he will just say, "Have a good day, see you later!" However, if I would have had one bag in my hand when I was pregnant with Yorlee, he would have jumped up to help. I don't get it. I've explained to him that I need more help now than I did then, but I don't think I'm making a breakthrough.
Also, I never thought that being pregnant with your second child could cause you to feel as though you were cheating on your first child. Oh, the mommy guilt! I think it is because I know how much her life is going to change, but she has no clue. After reading some comments, I thought that maybe she did understand that I have a baby in my belly, so I asked her, "Does mommy have a baby in her belly?" And she said, "No!" And now when I ask her where is the baby, she points to random places such as the garbage, her pack and play, her foot, and Daddy's nose. If she does understand, she sure is fooling me!
Did you know that water can cause extremely painful heartburn? No? Oh well, let me tell you, it can. So can breathing. I've had such bad heartburn this time around. Goodness gracious! And from the most simple things.
Please don't take any of the things that I mentioned to mean that I'm not grateful that I'm pregnant or have children. That definitely isn't the case. I'm extremely grateful, however, pregnancy can be hard.

15 weeks
How far along? 15 weeks, and still doesn't feel real.
Total weight gain/loss: None at all. I'm weighing pretty close to my pre-marriage weight, and even my size 6 pants are baggy in the legs.
Sleep: Not too bad. I still can't get enough of it.
Food cravings: Random things and they change every day. Recent onces have been: chili-cheese fries, Mexican food, White Castle burgers, and Red Lobster biscuits. I've indulged in every.single.one. I got weird looks when I came into work at 8AM with a bag of 4 White Castle burgers, a fry, and a Sprite. And it was delicious!!!
Best moment this week: Yorlee putting her hand on my belly and saying, "Hi bay-dee!" (translation: Hi baby!) She still doesn't understand that there is a baby in there, but she hears me say hi to the baby.
Movement: Definite taps. I was able to confirm them with the doppler. Now I'm excited to start feeling kicks and rolls in the coming weeks.
Gender: Still going back and forth between pink and blue. I honestly have no clue and all of the old wives tales are giving me different results.
Labor Signs: No way!!!!!
Belly Button in or out? Weird looking. I want my old, pre-pregnancy belly button back. (A girl can dream...)
What I miss: Not feeling dizzy all the time.
What I am looking forward to: June 12th, I really want to know the gender!!
Milestones: Can't think of any this week. This still feels surreal, I still am in disbelief that I'm actually pregnant.
Weekly Wisdom: Sometimes indulging in cravings can be totally worth it. It made me so happy!

14 weeks pregnant with Baby V 2.0
How far along? 14 weeks, wow time is flying by!
Total weight gain/loss: No weight gain at all. I really, really hope I don't blow up at the end.
Sleep: Better this week. I've been sleeping through the night without having to wake up and use the restroom, which is great!
Food cravings: Black olives, Red Lobster biscuits, seafood, fruit, water.
Best moment this week: Having Yorlee help me find BV2.0's heartbeat with the doppler. She was such a great helper! I went to the restroom to clean off the gel and came back to find her sprawled out on my bed with the doppler probe on her belly. It was so funny!
Movement: Still unsure. At times I'm so CERTAIN that I feel taps, but I can't really tell if it's not just digestive issues... It will come soon, I really felt Yorlee really well at 16 weeks, on the inside and outside.
Gender: When I first found out I was pregnant, I just knew this baby was a boy. I felt so sure, especially based on the lower betas at first and slower heart rate. Then I changed my mind and thought girl, now I just have no clue. We will find out for sure on June 12th. But, last time I just knew Yorlee was a girl from the beginning, and then changed my mind to boy, so maybe my first instincts are right? We'll see!
Labor Signs: No way!!!!!
Belly Button in or out? Puffy, the bottom is still out just a bit.
What I miss: At the moment, nothing. I feel like I'm a peace with everything right now, and am just happy to be where I'm at in life.
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender, getting out of the in between phase of clothing, spending more time with Yorlee, taking and posting a belly picture. I'm so lazy with those this time around.
Milestones: I'm in the 2nd Tri no matter what now! So excited, what a huge milestone! Only 10 weeks left until viability. Wow!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't worry, be happy!

My first trimester must haves for this pregnancy
Here's a list of things that helped me survive the first trimester this time around:
![]() |
| Water! I was/am so thirsty this time. |
![]() |
| These were such a lifesaver! But stopped being quite as effective after a few weeks. |
![]() |
| I still chew this gum on occasion. Best thing ever! |
![]() |
| Easier to get down when your gag reflex is on overdrive. |
![]() |
| Sleep! I'm so thankful for hubby, as soon as he got home from work I would go to bed. Every.Day. |
![]() |
| Like I've stated before, this pregnancy really shocked me. I'm so thankful for all the support I've received thus far. |
And this is one thing that I could have done without. True story! My husband really did do this (several times actually):

How?
Despite being happy about our upcoming new addition, there are still moments where fear and doubt creep into my head. Trying to figure out exactly HOW everything will work eludes me.
HOW will I get sleep? Sure, newborns sleep a whole lot (during the day at least), but 2 year olds don't! After being up all night with Baby V 2.0, how on earth will I be able to function well enough to keep my 2 year old from jumping off her dresser or painting the walls????
HOW will I shower? Of course I can put the baby in a bassinet and bring him/her into the bathroom with me, but what will I do with my rambunctious 22 month old? I guess I could put her in her pack and play for a few minutes.
HOW will my husband and I spend time together? I very vividly remember pretty much being a nursing machine for the first three months. Add to that chasing around a busy toddler and being sleep deprived by a newborn and I'm not sure how my husband and I will be sane enough to interact with one another.
HOW can I make Yorlee feel special and make the transition easy on her? We plan on making special time for her, whether a relative keeps the baby for a few hours, or my husband and I switch off and take her somewhere fun. But she has absolutely no concept of babies, and doesn't care about them at all. On the way home from picking her up from daycare, I'm going to stop by the store and get a baby doll and play crib so that she can get an idea of what babies are and how they should be touched very gently.
HOW will I cope? I know I can do this, but I just can't see myself doing it. That is what is the most scary part. Usually I can visualize myself in a situation and think about how to handle it, but this two kids thing? Yeah, I've got nothin'.
HOW do you do it? To all you moms (and dads) out there, how did you make the transition from one child to two, especially if they are fairly close in age?

13 weeks pregnant with baby #2
How far along? 13 weeks exactly!
Total weight gain/loss: Still no weight gain. Home scale showing I'm down 9 lbs. I wonder how much weight I'll actually gain this time.
Sleep: Sleep has gotten a bit more difficult. I haven't been as tired, but when I do sleep, I sleep HARD! Which means that I'm not shifting positions enough and my ligaments are sore when I wake up.
Food cravings: I've been wanting fruit, water, fruit snacks, and root beer. I find that I'm more hungry after I eat than I was before I ate, which can be very frustrating.
Best moment this week: Seeing Baby V 2.0 via ultrasound during our nuchal translucency screen. We saw the funniest thing, as soon as the tech started the ultrasound, there is Baby V 2.0 standing on its HEAD. It was hilarious!!!!! The tech actually had me change my position so we could get the baby to calm down a bit.
Movement: Still thinking I feel taps at times, but I'm unsure.
Gender: After our ultrasound I'm starting to think boy, we find out for sure on June 12th. It seems SO far away, but I know that time will fly.
Labor Signs: No way!!!!!
Belly Button in or out? Weird looking and still tender. Mostly in, but puffy.
What I miss: Normal hormones! I've been driving my husband crazy and freaking out about things that I have absolutely no control over.
What I am looking forward to: Starting to feel some movement in the next couple weeks.
Milestones: According to some, I'm in the 2nd Trimester!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Don't worry about things that you can't control. Worrying doesn't solve any problems, it only makes you feel terrible.
